Playground Soccer

This program was designed by child development and soccer experts to give your child a foundation for sports success.  Your player will hop, skip, jump, run, throw, balance, kick… and play.

Playground is a unique program designed to develop children by focusing on improving a child’s Fundamental Motor Skills (FMS) in a fun, parent participatory atmosphere utilizing age appropriate activities and storybook adventures.  It is a 6-week Soccer based skills Development Program for players age 3-4 who would like to have fun in a soccer environment.

  • Great Introduction to Soccer
  • Age appropriate Skill Development
  • 6 weekly 60-Minute-High Energy Fun Activities
  • Jersey and Secondary Insurance is Included
  • Parent Participation REQUIRED
  • Sharon Johnston Park
  • This is NOT a mini World Cup experience. Don’t expect 60 minutes of soccer games.  This program is heavy on motor skills development and light on competitive soccer.  Let your little one learn the beautiful game the right way.

AYSO Core Soccer Program

Our Core Program is the foundation for all the fun, excitement and learning that happens on the fields. AYSO is best known for our Core Program -- it's where the large majority of kids fall in love with soccer and make memories that will last a lifetime.

There are six core values -- or what we call AYSO's Six Philosophies -- that are the foundation of our core program, and all others:

  • Everyone Plays
  • Balanced Teams
  • Open Registration
  • Positive Coaching
  • Good Sportsmanship
  • Player Development

These are the essence of AYSO and it all starts with Everyone Plays.

Here in AYSO, Everyone Plays means that no kid spends their soccer experience sitting on the bench. Every kids plays at least half of every game. See below to learn more about AYSO's Six Philosophies

Also, teams are put together in a way that makes playing soccer about the experience, not wins or losses. It's not about blowing out another team with an unbelievable score; it's about sportsmanship and learning to be the best possible team mate and opponent. Developing players is what we're about, because soccer skills and life skills go hand in hand. AYSO's main purpose is to get kids on the field, provide them with good coaches, and teach them to play soccer.

AYSO 1174 Alliance Program

AYSO 1174 Alliance is a secondary program we offer to eligible players. There are no tryouts for this program, however players are selected for participation based primarily on their ability.

There is no additional registration fee for this program, however there could be tournament registration costs for tournaments we choose to compete in.

Alliance registration is opened a couple of times a year and coaches will invite participants to register.

For a player to be eligible:

  • The player must sign up, participate, and complete in one of our two core seasons (fall, spring, or both)
  • Players must have played in one of the 10U to 19U divisions. Not all divisions will have enough players to support interest in an Alliance team.
  • Teams created for the AYSO Alliance program will be responsible for some of the fees associated with tournaments. Tournament teams will be formed based on availability for the tournament weekend and max roster size allowed.
  • AYSO's principles, Everyone Plays, Positive Coaching, Good Sportsmanship, and Player Development will be emphasized, however not all tournaments or matches are AYSO so playing time may not be equal.

The teams are able to play in NON-AYSO tournaments, play friendlies with club teams or other AYSO teams.
